Volunteer: Planting, Maintaining, and Harvesting the UICOMP GardenThe UICOMP Garden provides fresh vegetables and fruit for students, staff, and faculty at the medical school every year. We also share our produce harvest with Sophia’s Kitchen, a local food bank for people in need. Caring for a garden is a lot of work, so any help is welcomed. Planting and harvest days generally last 1-2 hours and will be announced by email during the spring and summer. Please do not harvest from the garden without UICOMP personnel present. Weeding is a constant chore, so feel free to pull weeds from the raised beds whenever you have some spare time; you can deposit them in the large green compost bins.
