Description

The UICOMP Garden provides fresh vegetables and fruit for students, staff, and faculty at the medical school every year. We also share our produce harvest with Sophia’s Kitchen, a local food bank for people in need. Caring for a garden is a lot of work, so any help is welcomed. Planting and harvest days generally last 1-2 hours and will be announced by email during the spring and summer. Please do not harvest from the garden without UICOMP personnel present. Contact Dr. Jon Fisher (fisherjr@uic.edu) if you want to be added to the contact list for harvest days. Weeding is a constant chore, so feel free to pull weeds from the raised beds whenever you have some spare time; you can deposit them in the large green compost bins.
